King James Version
Numbers • Chapter 17
1
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying.
2
Say to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, and he shall remove the censers from among the burning coals and scatter the fire there, for they have become holy.
3
The sin offerings of these souls, and they shall make them flat pans, coated for the altar, because they offered them before the Lord and were sanctified, and they shall be for a sign for the children of Israel.
4
And Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers which the burned ones had offered, and they hammered them out as a covering for the altar.
5
A memorial for the sons of Israel so that no stranger who is not of the seed of Aaron shall come near to offer incense before the Lord, and he shall not be like Korah and his congregation, as the Lord spoke to Moses concerning him.
6
And all the congregation of the people of Israel complained against Moses and against Aaron, saying, "Have you made us die among the people of the Lord?"
7
And it happened when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, and they turned toward the Tent of Meeting, and behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.
8
And Moses and Aaron came before the Tent of Meeting.
9
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying.
10
"Lift them out from the midst of this congregation, and I will consume them in an instant, and they will fall upon their faces."
11
And Moses said to Aaron, "Take the censer and put fire on it from the altar, and place incense on it, and go quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, for the wrath has gone out from the presence of the Lord; the plague has begun."
12
And Aaron took as Moses had spoken, and he ran into the midst of the assembly, and behold, the plague had begun among the people, and he put on the incense and made atonement for the people.
13
And he stood between the dead and between the living, and the plague was halted.
