1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying. 2 Command the children of Israel and say to them that you are coming to the land of Canaan; this is the land that will fall to you as a possession, the land of Canaan to its borders. 3 And it shall be to you a corner of the Negev from the wilderness of Zin by the hand of Edom; and the border of the Negev shall be from the end of the Salt Sea eastward. 4 And the border shall turn for you from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim and shall pass to Zin; and its extremities shall be from the south to Kadesh Barnea, and it shall go out to Hazar Addar and shall pass to Azmon. 5 And the border will turn from Ezown to the river of Egypt, and the outgoings will be to the sea. 6 And the boundary of the sea will be to you; the great sea will be your boundary. 7 And this will be your northern border from the great sea to Mount Hagar. 8 From the mountain of the mountain you will desire to come to Hamath, and the exits of the boundary will be Sidon. 9 And the boundary of Ziphron shall go out, and its exits shall be to the courtyard of Enan; this shall be to you the northern boundary. 10 And you shall desire for yourselves the eastern border from the courtyard of Einan. 11 And the border shall descend from Shpham, the Riblah, eastward to Ain, and the border shall descend and strike on the shoulder of the Sea of Kinneret, eastward. 12 And the border of the Jordan shall descend, and its outlets shall be the Salt Sea; this shall be to you the land for your borders around. 13 And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, "This is the land that you shall inherit by lot, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine tribes and half the tribe." 14 For the sons of Reuben took a rod for their ancestral house, and the rod of the sons of Gad for their ancestral house, and half a rod of Manasseh they took for their inheritance. 15 Two of the staffs and half of the staff they took as their inheritance from beyond the Jordan to the east, in the region of Jericho. 16 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying. 17 These are the names of the men who will inherit for you the land: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun. 18 And one leader, one leader from each tribe, you shall take to inherit the land. 19 And these are the names of the men for the tribe of Judah: Caleb the son of Jephunneh. 20 And to the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shmuel the son of Ammihud. 21 To/for the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Kislon. 22 And to the tribe of the sons of Dan, the leader is Bukki the son of Jogli. 23 To the sons of Joseph, to the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, the leader is Haniel the son of Ephod. 24 And for the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, the leader is Kemuel son of Shiptan. 25 And for the tribe of the children of Zebulun, the leader is Elizaphan the son of Parnach. 26 And for the tribe of the sons of Issachar, the leader is Paltiel son of Azzan. 27 And for the tribe of the sons of Asher, the leader is Ahihud son of Shlomi. 28 And for the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, the leader is Pedahel son of Ammihud. 29 These are the commandments that the Lord commanded to distribute to the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.
