King James Version
Numbers • Chapter 19
1
And the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying.
2
This is the statute of the law which the Lord commanded to say: Speak to the children of Israel and they shall take to you a red heifer, perfect, in which is no blemish, and upon which a yoke has not come.
3
And you shall give her to Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her outside the camp and shall slaughter her before him.
4
And Eleazar the priest shall take some of her blood with his finger and sprinkle it in the direction of the front of the tent of meeting, from her blood, seven times.
5
And he shall burn the cow before my eyes, and its skin and its flesh and its blood on the pyre he shall burn.
6
And the priest shall take a cedar wood and hyssop and scarlet yarn and shall throw them into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
7
And the priest shall wash his clothes and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until evening.
8
And the one who burns her shall wash his clothes in water and he shall bathe his flesh in water and be unclean until evening.
9
And a clean man shall gather the ashes of the heifer and place them outside the camp in a clean place, and it shall be for the congregation of the children of Israel for the service of the water of purification; it is a sin offering.
10
And whoever washes the ashes of the heifer will be unclean until evening, and it shall be for the children of Israel and for the stranger dwelling among them a statute forever.
11
The one who touches a dead person, any human soul, shall be unclean for seven days.
12
He shall be cleansed on the third day and on the seventh day; but if he does not cleanse himself on the third day and on the seventh day, he shall not be cleansed.
13
All who touches a corpse of a person who will die and does not purify the dwelling of the Lord, that soul shall be cut off from Israel, for the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him; he shall be unclean, his uncleanness remains upon him.
14
This is the law of a person who dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent and all that is in the tent will be unclean for seven days.
15
And every open vessel that has no cover tied upon it is unclean.
16
And everything that touches the surface of the field in the dead body or in a man’s bone or in a grave shall be unclean for seven days.
17
And they shall take for the unclean from the ashes of the burning of the sin offering and shall put on it living water into a vessel.
18
And he shall take hyssop and dip it in the water, a clean man, and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the vessels and on the souls that were there and on the one who touches the corpse or the dead body or the grave.
19
And the pure one shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day, and he shall cleanse him on the seventh day, and he shall wash his garments and bathe in water, and he shall be clean in the evening.
20
And any man who becomes unclean and does not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation because he has defiled the sanctuary of the Lord; he has not sprinkled on him water from the impurity; he is unclean.
21
And it shall be to them for a statute forever, and whoever touches the water of the menstruation shall cleanse his garments, and whoever touches the water of the menstruation shall be unclean until evening.
22
And everything that touches it shall be unclean, and the person who touches it shall be unclean until evening.
