Proverbs • Chapter 14
1
The wise women built her house, but foolishness pulled it down with her hands.
2
The one who walks in his straightforwardness, fearing the Lord, is despised in his ways.
3
In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, but the lips of the wise will guard you.
4
Without thousands, a stable is barren, and much produce is through the strength of an ox.
5
A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies.
6
The fool seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge is easy for the discerning.

Go before a foolish man, and you will not know the lips of knowledge.

The wisdom of the prudent understands his way, but the folly of fools deceives them.
9
The fool will mock at guilt, but among the upright there is favor.

The heart knows the bitterness of its own soul, and in its joy, a stranger does not participate.

The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

Even in laughter the heart may ache, and the end of joy is sorrow.

From my ways, a good man will be satisfied with his heart, and above me.

The simple person believes every word, but the clever one understands his direction.

The wise fears and turns away from evil, but the fool is reckless and confident.

A quick-tempered person brings folly, but a man of schemes will be hated.

The simple have inherited folly, but the shrewd will have knowledge.

The wicked bow before the good, and the wicked are at the gates of the righteous.

Also, a friend will hate the poor, but there are many who love the rich.

He despises his neighbor who is a sinner, but he shows favor to the humble and poor; blessed is he.

Will not those who plot evil err, but those who plan good will reap kindness and truth?

In every sorrow there will be relief, and a word of lips only to lack.

The crown of the wise is their wealth; the folly of fools is folly.

He saves souls with truth and removes lies from deceit.

In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge.

The fear of the Lord is a source of life, turning one away from the snares of death.

In the multitude of people is the glory of a king, but in the lack of people is the destruction of a prince.

A long anger is abundant in understanding, but a short spirit exalts folly.
30
The life of the flesh is a healing heart, but envy is the rottenness of the bones.
31
One who oppresses the poor insults his Maker, but one who honors Him has mercy on the needy.
32
In his wickedness the wicked is driven away, but the righteous has hope in his death.
33
In the heart of the discerning, wisdom will rest, but in the midst of fools, it will be made known.
34
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to peoples.
35
The will of the king is for a wise servant, and his anger will be against one who brings shame.
