Proverbs • Chapter 29
1
A man who rebukes hardens his neck; he will suddenly be broken, and there is no remedy.
2
In the abundance of the righteous, the people will rejoice; but in the rule of the wicked, the people will groan.
3
A man who loves wisdom will make his father happy, but he who feeds on prostitutes will lose wealth.
4
A king establishes the land with justice, and a man makes it desolate through tribute.
5
A man who slips upon his friend; a net spreads upon his feet.
6
Through transgression, a wicked man sets a trap, but the righteous will rejoice and be glad.
7
The righteous knows the cause of the poor; the wicked does not understand knowledge.
8
The men of mockery will blow a trumpet, and the wise will turn away wrath.
9
A wise man judges a foolish man and rages and laughs, and there is no rest.
10
Men of blood hate the innocent, but the upright seek his soul.
11
Every wind drives out a fool, but a wise person sits back and praises.
12
A ruler who listens to a word of deceit, all his servants are wicked.
13
The poor and the crafty met; the eyes of both are opened by the Lord.
14
A king who judges with truth, the throne of him will endure forever.
15
The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.
16
In the multitude of the wicked, transgression will increase, but the righteous will see their downfall.
17
He will instruct you and give you rest, and He will provide delights for your soul.

Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, but blessed is he who keeps the law.

In words a servant will not be corrected because he understands and there is no reply.

You have seen a man hasty in his words; there is more hope for a fool than for him.
21
A servant is pampered from his youth, but in his end he will be a fool.

A man is angry and stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger has great understanding.
23
The pride of man will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honor.
24
He who shares with a thief hates his own soul; he hears an oath and does not disclose it.
25
The fear of man will lay a snare, but he who trusts in the LORD will be exalted.
26
Many seek the face of a ruler, but from the Lord comes justice for a man.
27
The wicked man is an abomination to the righteous, and the upright is an abomination to the wicked.
