Proverbs • Chapter 28
1
The wicked fled, and no one pursued; the righteous are bold as a lion.
2
In a land of many transgressions, a ruler is a man of understanding; thus, he will prolong.
3
A poor man and one who oppresses the needy is like a downpour that destroys; there is no bread.
4
Those who forsake the Torah will praise the wicked, but those who keep the Torah will contend with them.
5
Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand all.
6
Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man whose ways are perverse.
7
The guardian of the law is a son of understanding, but a shepherd of gluttons will bring shame.

The one who increases wealth through usury and interest will gather it for the one who shows favor to the poor.
9
He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
10
The one who leads the upright in a path of evil will fall, but the pure will inherit good.

A wise man in his own eyes is a rich man, and a poor man who understands will examine him.

In the rejoicing of the righteous, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
13
He who covers his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find mercy.

Blessed is the man who is always fearful, but he who hardens his heart will fall into evil.

A lion roars and a bear growls; a wicked ruler rules over a needy people.

A leader lacking understanding is greatly burdened; he who hates bribes will prolong his days.

A man is crushed in blood of a life till he flees to a pit; let them not support him.

The one who walks blamelessly will be saved, but the one who twists his ways will fall in one.

The one who works the land will be satisfied with bread, but the one pursuing worthless things will be satisfied with poverty.

A man of many faiths is rich in blessings, but he who desires to be wealthy shall not be innocent.

Showing favor to a face is not good, and over a piece of bread a man will transgress.

An evil man is driven by greed, and he does not know that poverty will come upon him.

A man who reproves will find favor, but he who flatters with the tongue.

He steals from his father and his mother and says, "There is no sin," a destructive man to another man.

A broad-minded person stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the LORD will be enriched.
26
The one who trusts in his heart is a fool, but the one who walks in wisdom will be saved.
27
He gives to the poor, there is no lack, and my eyes are raised; many lights.
28
When the wicked rise, a man is hidden; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
