Proverbs • Chapter 16
1
To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the answer of the tongue.
2
All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits.
3
Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established.
4
All that the LORD has made for its purpose, and even the wicked for the day of disaster.
5
The abomination of the Lord is every haughty heart; hand in hand, he will not be acquitted.
6
In kindness and truth, iniquity is covered, and by the fear of the Lord, turn away from evil.
7
If the LORD delights in a man's ways, He will make even his enemies be at peace with him.
8
Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without justice.
9
The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.
10
A spell is on the lips of the king; in judgment he will not transgress my word.
11
A balance and scales of justice are with the Lord; all the stones of the bag are His work.

The abomination of kings is to do wickedness, for by righteousness the throne is established.
13
The desire of kings is lips of righteousness, and one who speaks straight will be loved.

The anger of the king is like the messengers of death, but a wise man can appease it.

In the light of the face of the living king, and his desire is like the early rain.

Get wisdom; it is better than gold, and get understanding; it is chosen more than silver.

The path of the upright is to turn away from evil; he who guards his soul watches his way.

Before the breaking of pride and before the downfall of a high spirit.

Better is a lowly spirit with the humble than to divide the spoil with the proud.

The one who is skilled in a matter will find good, and he who trusts in the LORD is blessed.

The wise of heart will be called understanding, and sweetness of lips will increase learning.

The source of living waters is understanding, but the instruction of fools is folly.

The heart of the wise will understand his mouth, and on his lips, he will add learning.

Honeycomb, say the words of sweetness; it is sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the ways of death.

The soul of the laborer works hard for him, for his mouth urges him on.

A man of worth speaks evil, and on his lips is like a burning fire.

A man of conflicts will send strife, and a brawler separates friends.

A man of violence entices his neighbor and leads him in a path that is not good.

"Help my eyes to look for reversals; my lips cease from evil."

A crown of glory is found in the way of righteousness.

Better is a man slow to anger than a mighty warrior, and one who rules his spirit than one who takes a city.

In the lap, the lot will be cast, and from the Lord comes all judgment.
