King James Version
Deuteronomy • Chapter 32
1
Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.
2
He will drop like rain for the garden, his words will flow like dew on the grass, and like showers upon the herb.
3
For I will call upon the name of the LORD; ascribe greatness to our God.
4
The rock, perfect is his work, for all his ways are justice; a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, righteous and upright is he.
5
He has corrupted them; they are not His children; they are a blemished generation, a crooked and perverse one.
6
Do you repay this to the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is He not your father, who made you, and established you?
7
Remember the days of old, consider the years of generation after generation. Ask your father, and he will inform you; your elders, and they will tell you.
8
When the Most High divided the nations, when He separated the sons of man, He established the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel.
9
For the portion of the Lord is His people; Jacob is the measure of His inheritance.
10
He will find them in a desert land and in the wasteland; he will howl around them; he will encircle them as the pupil of his eye.
11
Like an eagle awakens its nest over its young, it hovers, spreads its wings, takes it, carries it on its pinions.
12
The LORD alone will guide us, and there is no foreign god with Him.
13
He shall ride on the heights of the earth and eat the yield of the fields and suckle honey from the rock and oil from the flinty crag.
14
You shall drink the wine mixed with the blood of grapes, and eat the fat of cattle and the milk of goats, along with the fat of lambs and the kidneys of wheat.
15
And Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; you grew fat, you became thick, you are covered with fat. Then he forsook God who made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
16
He will be jealous of strangers; in abominations, he will anger him.
17
They shall sacrifice to demons, not to God; gods they did not know; new ones, nearby, came; your ancestors did not fear them.
18
You have forgotten the God who gave you birth.
19
And the LORD saw and was angry because of the anger of My sons and My daughters.
20
And He said, "I will hide My face from them; I will see what their end will be, for they are a generation of reversals; they are children in whom there is no faith."
21
They provoked me to jealousy with no god; they angered me with their worthless idols. So I will provoke them to jealousy with a non-people; I will anger them with a foolish nation.
22
For fire has kindled in my wrath and it burns to the lowest hell, and it consumes the earth and its yield, and it sets ablaze the foundations of the mountains.
23
I will be upon them like a lion; I will destroy them.
24
I will send them the famine of hunger and the heat of burning and the bitterness of pestilence, and the teeth of beasts with the fury of creeping things of dust.
25
From outside, the sword will kill, and from the chambers, fear; also a young man, also a virgin, nursing infant with an old man.
26
I said, "You will destroy them from among men, their memory."
27
If it had not been for the anger of the enemy, lest they should misunderstand and say, "Our hand is high," and that the Lord did not do all this.
28
For a nation that has perished, they have no counsel, and there is no understanding in them.
29
If they were wise, they would understand this; they would consider their latter end.
30
How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock sold them, and the Lord had given them up?
31
For our rock is not like their rock; and our enemies are of a different kind.
32
For it is like the vine of Sodom and the vineyards of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of poison, the clusters are bitter.
33
The wrath of the dragons is wine, and the head of the serpents is cruel.
34
Is it not hidden with me, sealed up in my treasures?
35
I will take vengeance and repay at the time the feet stumble, for the day of their disaster is near, and the destined things hurry upon them.
36
For the LORD will judge His people, and He will have compassion on His servants, for He will see that their strength is gone, and there is none remaining, closed and abandoned.
37
And he said, "Where is my God, the rock of my refuge?"
38
Those who eat the fat of the sacrifices shall drink sweet wine; they shall rise and your help shall be hidden from you.
39
"See now, that I, I am He, and there is no god with me. I kill and I make alive; I have wounded and I will heal, and there is none that can deliver out of my hand."
40
For I will lift my hand to the heavens and I will say, "As surely as I live forever."
41
If I sharpen my sword and hold justice in my hand, I will repay vengeance to my adversaries and to those who hate me I will pay back.
42
I will make clear my bow and my sword will eat flesh from the blood of the slain and the captives from the head of the enemies of Pharaoh.
43
Shout for joy, O nations, for the blood of my servants will be avenged, and I will bring retribution upon my enemies and will cleanse the land of my people.
44
And Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun.
45
And Moses finished speaking all these words to all Israel.
46
And he said to them, "Set your hearts on all the words that I testify to you today, that you may command your children to observe to do all the words of this law."
47
For it is not a worthless thing for you; it is your life, and by this word you shall prolong your days upon the land which you are crossing the Jordan to possess.
48
And the Lord spoke to Moses on the very day, saying.
49
Go up to this mountain, the mountain of Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, across from Jericho, and see the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel as a possession.
50
And you shall die on the mountain that you are going up to, and you shall be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people.
51
Because you acted treacherously against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin, because you did not sanctify me in the midst of the children of Israel.
52
For from a distance you will see the land, but there you will not enter into the land that I am giving to the children of Israel.
