King James Version
Ezekiel • Chapter 29
1
In the year of the tenth, in the twelfth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2
Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all of Egypt.
3
Speak and say: Thus says my Lord, Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt, the great dragon lying in the midst of your rivers, who said, "My river is mine, and I have made it."
4
And I will give you living fish in your jaws, and I will stick the fish of your rivers to your scales, and I will bring you up from the midst of your rivers and all the fish of your rivers shall stick to your scales.
5
And I will leave you the wilderness, and you will fall on the face of the field; you will not be gathered, and you will not be collected for the animals of the earth and for the birds of the heavens; I have given you for food.
6
And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord, because they have been a refuge of reed for the house of Israel.
7
In your hands you will grasp them, with your palm you will strike, and you will break every shoulder; and when they lean upon you, you will be shattered, and you will set all their loins.
8
Therefore, thus says my Lord Yahweh: Behold, I bring a sword upon you, and I will cut off from you man and beast.
9
And the land of Egypt will be desolate and dry, and they will know that I am the LORD, because the river said to me, "I made it."
10
Therefore, behold, I am against you and against your rivers, and I will give the land of Egypt to desolations, a desolate sword, from Migdol to Syene, even to the border of Cush.
11
You shall not pass over it with the foot of a man, and the foot of a beast shall not pass over it, and it shall not be occupied for forty years.
12
And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of desolate countries, and its cities among ruined cities shall be desolate forty years; and I will scatter Egypt among the nations, and I will disperse them throughout the countries.
13
For thus says the Lord God: After forty years, I will gather Egypt from the nations where they were scattered.
14
And I will bring back the captivity of Egypt, and I will bring them back to the land of Pathros, to the land of their origin, and they shall be there a lowly kingdom.
15
From the kingdoms it will be low, and it will not exalt itself over the nations, and I have made them few so that they do not oppress the nations.
16
And there will no longer be for the house of Israel a sanctuary that reminds of sin in their turning away, and they will know that I am the Lord GOD.
17
And it came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying.
18
Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has subjected his army to great labor at Tyre; all of its heads are made bald and all its shoulders are worn bare, and there was no reward for him and for his army from Tyre for the labor that they performed against it.
19
Therefore, thus says my Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am giving to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon the land of Egypt, and he will carry away her multitude and take her plunder and seize her spoil, and there will be wages for his army.
20
I have given him the land of Egypt for his labor, which they did for me, declares the Lord Yahweh.
21
On that day I will raise up a horn for the house of Israel, and to you I will give a mouth of opening in their midst, and they will know that I am the LORD.
