1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying. 2 Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says my Lord Yahweh, Wail, alas, for the day. 3 For the day is near, and the day of the LORD is near, a day of clouds; it will be the time of the nations. 4 And a sword will come upon Egypt, and there will be trembling in Cush, when a slain one falls in Egypt, and they will take its multitude, and its foundations will be destroyed. 5 Cush, and Put, and Lud, and all the mixed multitude, and the sons of the land of the covenant with them will fall by the sword. 6 Thus says the LORD: And the supporters of Egypt will fall, and the pride of its strength will be brought down; from the tower of Syene they will fall by the sword, declares the Lord GOD. 7 And they will be inhaled in the midst of the lands of souls, and will be in the midst of ruined cities. 8 And they will know that I am the LORD when I set fire in Egypt and all its helpers are broken. 9 On that day, messengers will go forth from before me in the heights to terrify Cush securely, and there will be trembling among them on the day of Egypt, for behold, it comes. 10 Thus says my Lord Yahweh, "And I will cause the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon." 11 He and his people, with him, are cruel rulers of nations brought to ruin the land, and they emptied their swords upon Egypt and filled the land with the slain. 12 And I will make the rivers desolate and I will sell the land into the hand of the wicked, and I will make the land and its fullness desolate into the hand of strangers; I am the Lord, I have spoken. 13 Thus says the Lord, "I will destroy idols and put an end to false gods from Nof, and no prince will be in the land of Egypt anymore, and I will give fear in the land of Egypt." 14 And I will destroy Patros and I will put fire in Zoan and I will make judgments in No. 15 And I will pour out my fury upon Sin, the stronghold of Egypt, and I will cut off the multitude of No. 16 And I will set fire in Egypt; a beginning of trembling will be there, and it will be like a breaking forth, and the bitterness of the day will be. 17 The young men of iniquity and the mouth of deceit shall fall by the sword, and they shall go into captivity. 18 And in Tachpanches, the day will be held back when I break the rods of Egypt, and its pride will cease; she is a cloud that will cover, and her daughters will go into captivity. 19 And I will set judgments in Egypt, and they will know that I am the Lord. 20 And it was in the eleventh year in the first month on the seventh day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying. 21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and behold, it is not bound up to apply a healing poultice to make it strong to hold the sword. 22 Therefore, thus says my Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and I will break his arms, the strong one and the broken one, and I will throw down the sword out of his hand. 23 And I will scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse them in the countries. 24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and I will put my sword in his hand, and I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and there will be groanings of the slain before him. 25 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall, and they will know that I am the Lord when I give my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt. 26 And I will scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse them in the countries, and they will know that I am the Lord.
