King James Version

Ezekiel • Chapter 47

1 And he brought me back to the entrance of the house, and behold, water was flowing from under the threshold of the house eastward, for the front of the house faced east; and the water was flowing down from under the right side of the house, south of the altar. 2 And He brought me out by the way of the northern gate, and He led me around by the way of the outer gate that faces east; and behold, water was flowing from the right side. 3 When the man went out to the east and stood with his hand, and he measured a thousand cubits and he brought me through the waters, waters of unending. 4 And He stood a thousand and caused me to pass through the waters, waters to the ankles; and He stood a thousand and caused me to pass through the waters, waters to the knees. 5 And a thousand stood by a river that I could not cross, for the waters of the river had risen high; a river that could not be crossed. 6 And He said to me, "Have you seen, son of man?" And He brought me and set me at the edge of the river. 7 When I returned, behold, at the edge of the river, a very large tree, more than this and more than that. 8 And he said to me, "These waters go out to the eastern region and they will go down into the Arabah and will enter the sea, the salty sea, and the waters will be healed and the waters will be made fresh." 9 And it shall be that every living soul which swarms will come to all that will enter there; the rivers will live, and there will be very many fish because these waters have come there, and they shall be healed, and everything that comes there will live. 10 And it shall be that the fishermen shall stand upon it from En Gedi to En Eglaim; they shall be spreading nets; their fish shall be like the fish of the great sea, very numerous. 11 Upon your going out and my coming in, they shall not be healed for the salt has been given to us. 12 And on the river shall rise on its bank from this side and from that side every tree for food; its leaf shall not wither and its fruit shall not cease; it shall bear fresh fruit every month, because its waters flow from the sanctuary, and its fruit shall be for food and its leaf for healing. 13 Thus says my Lord Yahweh: "Mark the boundary that you shall inherit the land for the twelve tribes of Israel; Joseph shall have two portions." 14 And you shall inherit it, each man as his brother, whom I have sworn by my hand to give it to your fathers; and the land shall fall to you as an inheritance. 15 And this is the border of the land at the northern limit from the Great Sea, the way of Hethlon to come to Zedad. 16 The boundary of Hamath is Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath, the middle Hazer, which is toward the border of Hauran. 17 And the boundary from the sea was the courtyard of Einon, the boundary of Damascus, and the northern border was Hamath, and at the corner of the north. 18 And the eastern edge between Hauran and between Damascus and between Gilead and between the land of Israel by the Jordan from the boundary at the eastern sea shall be continuous and the eastern edge shall be. 19 And the border of the Negev is southward from Tamar to the waters of Meriboth Kadesh, the inheritance to the Great Sea, and the edge of the Negev southward. 20 And the edge of the sea, the great sea, from the border to opposite the entrance of Hamath, this is the edge of the sea. 21 And you shall divide this land for yourselves by the tribes of Israel. 22 And it shall be that you shall give him an inheritance among you and to the sojourners who sojourn among you, those who have children among you; they shall be to you as native-born among the children of Israel. With you they shall be apportioned an inheritance in the midst of the tribes of Israel. 23 And it shall be in the tribe where the stranger dwells with you, there you shall give him his inheritance, declares the Lord God.
