King James Version

Ezekiel • Chapter 4

1 And you, son of man, take for yourself a brick and set it before you and engrave on it the city of Jerusalem. 2 And you shall place a mound upon it, and you shall build upon it a ramp, and you shall pour upon it a pouring, and you shall place upon it camps, and you shall set around it a fence. 3 And you shall take for yourself a bronze shield and set it as a wall of bronze between you and the city, and you shall prepare your face toward it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it; it is a sign for the house of Israel. 4 And you shall lie on your left side, and put the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it, the number of the days you shall lie upon it; you shall bear their iniquity. 5 And I gave you the two iniquities for the number of days three hundred and ninety days, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. 6 And you shall finish these, and you shall lie on your right side the second time, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah for forty days; day for a year, I have appointed for you. 7 And to the siege of Jerusalem, you will prepare your faces, and your arms will be bare, and you will prophesy against her. 8 And behold, I have placed upon you bindings, and you shall not turn from your side to your side until your days of siege are completed. 9 And you shall take for yourself wheat and barley and beans and lentils and millet and spelt, and you shall put them in one container, and you shall make them for yourself into bread, according to the number of days that you lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days, and you shall eat it. 10 And your food that you will eat shall be in a weight of twenty shekels a day from time to time. 11 And you shall drink water in moderation, six parts a hin, from time to time you shall drink. 12 And she will eat barley cakes, and she is because of the crying of man; she will be longing in their eyes. 13 And the LORD said, "Thus shall the children of Israel eat their unclean bread among the nations where I will drive them." 14 And I said, "Ah, Lord Yahweh, behold, my soul is not defiled, and I have not eaten anything unclean or dead; I have not eaten such from my youth until now, and nothing impure has entered my mouth." 15 And he said to me, "See, I have given you the fat of the cattle instead of the dung of man, and you shall make your bread upon them." 16 And he said to me, "Son of man, behold, I am breaking the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they will eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and they will drink water by measure and in desolation." 17 For the sake of lacking bread and water, and each man and his brother will be weary because of their iniquities.
