King James Version

Ezekiel • Chapter 32

1 And it was in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying. 2 Son of man, take up a lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him: You are like a lion among the nations, and you are like a dragon in the seas; you piled up water with your feet and troubled their rivers. 3 Thus says my Lord Yahweh: "I have spread my net over you in the congregation of many peoples, and I have brought you up with my bait." 4 And I will leave you in the land before the field, and I will cause all the birds of the heavens to dwell upon you, and I will make all the beasts of the earth to be sated from you. 5 And I will put your flesh upon the mountains, and I will fill the high places with your heights. 6 And I will water your land with your blood to the mountains, and the streams will be filled from you. 7 And I will cover your heavens with darkness, and I will darken your stars; the sun will be covered by a cloud, and the moon will not give its light. 8 All the lights of the heavens I will darken over you, and I will put darkness upon your land, says the Lord God. 9 And I will anger the hearts of many nations when I bring your destruction among the nations upon lands that you do not know. 10 And I will bring upon you many nations, and their kings will be like a whirlwind upon you, with my sword sweeping over their faces, and they will tremble for moments, each man for his life, in the day of your fall. 11 For thus says the Lord/YHWH: The sword of King Babylon shall come upon you. 12 With the swords of mighty men, your multitude fell, the tyrants of nations altogether, and they devastated the pride of Egypt, and all its multitude was destroyed. 13 And I will destroy all livestock from upon many waters, and the foot of man shall not pass over them anymore, and the hooves of beasts shall not pass over them. 14 Then I will pour out their waters like oil, says the Lord God. 15 When I make the land of Egypt desolate and a wasteland, when I strike all its inhabitants, then they will know that I am the Lord. 16 It is a lament, and the daughters of the nations will mourn for her; they will mourn for her over Egypt and over all her throng, says the Lord Yahweh. 17 And it came to pass in the twelve year, in the fifteenth month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying. 18 Son of man, wail over the multitude of Egypt and bring her down, both her and the daughters of the nations, to the land below, with those who go down to the pit. 19 From whom have you become soft? You lie down and cause the uncircumcised to sleep. 20 In the midst of the slain by the sword, they will fall; the sword is given, draw it and all its multitude. 21 They spoke to the mighty ones from the midst of Sheol, saying, "My strength has gone down; the uncircumcised lay down, slain by the sword." 22 There, Assyria and all its assembly around it, all of them are slain, the fallen by the sword. 23 Which they gave as graves in the depths of the pit, and there was a gathering around her grave, all of them slain falling by the sword, which was given as a tribute in the land of the living. 24 There, Elam and all its multitude surround her grave; all are the slain fallen by the sword who went down uncircumcised into the underworld, who were given to the sword in the land of the living, and they bear their shame with those who go down to the pit. 25 In the midst of the slain they gave her a resting place; all around her were graves of the uncircumcised, slain by the sword, for they were laid in the land of the living, and they bore their shame with those who descend to the pit in the midst of the slain. 26 There, Meshech and Tubal, and all her multitude are around me, and her graves are all uncircumcised, slain by the sword, for they have given their terror in the land of the living. 27 And they will not lie with mighty ones fallen from the uncircumcised who went down to Sheol with the weapons of their warfare, and they gave their swords under their heads, and their iniquities will be upon their bones, for they were slain of mighty ones in the land of the living. 28 And you shall be broken among the uncircumcised and you shall lie with those slain by the sword. 29 There in Edom, its kings and all its princes, who were given by their might as slain by the sword, they will lie with the uncircumcised and with those who go down to the pit. 30 The princes of the north were ashamed, and all the Sidonians who went down to the slain with their might, and the uncircumcised lay among the slain by the sword, and they carried their shame to those who went down to the pit. 31 Pharaoh will see them and will be comforted regarding all his multitude, the slain of Pharaoh and all his army, says the Lord God. 32 For I have given the wheat/ my wheat in the land of the living, and I will lie among the uncircumcised with the slain by the sword of Pharaoh and all the multitude, declares my Lord Yahweh.
