Ezekiel • Chapter 5
1
And you, son of man, take for yourself a sharp sword, a barber's razor, you shall take for yourself, and you shall pass it on your head and on your beard, and you shall take for yourself balances of weight and you shall divide them.
2
A third part in the fire, in the midst of the city, as the days of the siege are fulfilled, and you shall take the third part, strike with the sword around it, and the third part you shall scatter to the wind, and the sword I will draw after them.

And you shall take from there a small number and you shall bind them on your wings.
4
And of them you shall still take, and you shall cast them into the midst of the fire, and you shall burn them in the fire; from them a fire shall go out against all the house of Israel.

Thus says my Lord Yahweh: This is Jerusalem; I have set her in the midst of the nations and the countries all around her.
6
And you have despised my judgments to commit wickedness from the nations and my statutes from the lands that are around you, for they have rejected my judgments and have not walked in my statutes.
7
Therefore, thus says my Lord Yahweh: Because you have been rebellious against my statutes and have not walked in my judgments, and have not done according to the judgments of the nations that are around you.
8
Therefore, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, and I will execute judgments in your midst in the sight of the nations.
9
And I will do to you what I have not done and what I will never do again, because of all your abominations.
10
Therefore, fathers will eat the sons in your midst, and sons will eat their fathers, and I will execute judgments upon you, and I will scatter all your remnant to every wind.
11
Therefore, as I live, declares the Lord God, if you do not answer my sanctuary defiled with all your abominations and with all your detestable things, then I will also withdraw and will not spare my eyes, and I will also have no pity.

A third of your people will die by pestilence, and a third will be consumed in your midst by famine, and a third will fall by the sword around you, and a third will be scattered to every wind, and the sword will pursue them.
13
And when my fury is completed and I rest my wrath upon them, then I will be comforted, and they will know that I, the Lord, have spoken in my jealousy when I have finished my wrath upon them.
14
And I will give you to be a ruin and a reproach among the nations that are around you, in the sight of all who pass by.
15
And it shall be a reproach and an insult, a removal and a desolation to the nations that are around you, when I execute judgments against you in anger and in wrath and in rebukes of anger; I, the Lord, have spoken.
16
When I send My arrows of hunger, those who are destructive, which I will send to destroy you, and hunger will gather against you, and I will break for you the staff of bread.
17
And I will send upon you famine and evil beasts and bereavement and pestilence and blood will pass through you, and I will bring a sword upon you; I am the LORD, I have spoken.
