King James Version

Ezekiel • Chapter 7

1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying. 2 And you, son of man, thus says Lord YHWH to the land of Israel: The end has come upon the four corners of the land. 3 Now the end has come upon you, and I will send my wrath upon you and judge you according to your ways, and I will bring upon you all your abominations. 4 And you shall not have pity on me, nor will I spare, for your ways upon you I will bring, and your abominations within you shall be; and you shall know that I am the Lord. 5 Thus says the Lord God: "One evil is coming upon the land." 6 The end has come, the end has come upon you; behold, it has come. 7 The swift one has come to you, O dweller of the earth. The time is near; the day is tumultuous and the sound is not lifted. 8 Now I will pour out my wrath upon you, and I will complete my anger against you, and I will judge you according to your ways, and I will put upon you all your abominations. 9 And you shall not spare your eye, and you shall not have pity; according to your ways I will give to you, and your abominations within you shall be; and you shall know that I am the Lord who strikes. 10 Behold, today, behold, it has come out, the sparrow has sprouted, the staff has blossomed, the insolent has flourished. 11 Violence arose against the tribe of wickedness, not from them and not from their multitude, and not from their noise, and not did they roar in them. 12 The time has come; the day of buying should not rejoice, and the one selling should not mourn, for wrath is upon all its multitude. 13 For the seller of the sale will not return, and still in life they will not live, for a vision regarding all its multitude will not return, and a man in his sin will not be strengthened. 14 Blow the trumpet and prepare everything, and there is no one going to battle because my fury is against all her multitude. 15 The sword in the open field will kill, and what is in the city will die from hunger and plague. 16 And the survivors shall escape, and they shall be like the doves of the valleys; all of them shall mourn, each for his own iniquity. 17 All hands will be weak and all knees will go weak with water. 18 And they girded sackcloth and covered themselves with ashes, and in every face was shame, and on all their heads was baldness. 19 Their silver and their gold will be thrown in the streets, and their gold will be for a defilement; their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD; they will not satisfy their souls, and their bowels will not be filled, for it has been a stumbling block of their iniquity. 20 And the beauty of their glory was a shame, and the images of their abominations and their detestable things they made in it. Therefore, I have given them for a menstrual impurity. 21 And I will give it into the hand of the foreigners for plunder, and to the wicked of the earth for spoil, and they will desecrate it and they will profane it. 22 And I will turn my face away from them, and they will profane my secret place, and the destroyers will come into it and profane it. 23 Make desolation, for the land is full of bloodshed and the city is full of violence. 24 And I will bring the evil of the nations, and they will inherit their houses; and I will put an end to the pride of the mighty, and they will be desolate, their sanctuaries. 25 A wasp came and they sought peace, but there was none. 26 Woe upon woe shall come, and hearing shall be upon hearing; they shall seek a vision from a prophet, and the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders. 27 The king will mourn and the prince will be clothed in desolation, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble from their ways; I will do to them and in their judgments I will judge them, and they will know that I am the Lord.
