King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 137

1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down; also we wept when we remembered Zion. 2 Upon the willows in its midst we will hang our harps. 3 For there, they asked us to sing the words of a song and to entertain us with joy; sing to us from the song of Zion. 4 How shall we sing the song of the Lord in a foreign land? 5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget. 6 Let my tongue cling to my mouth if I do not remember you; if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy. 7 Remember, O Lord, against the sons of Edom the day of Jerusalem, who said, "Raze it, raze it, down to its foundation." 8 O daughter of Babylon, devastated! Blessed is he who repays you what you have done to us. 9 Blessed is he who grasps and shatters your little ones against the rock.
