King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 81

1 For the conductor, upon the Gittith, a psalm of Asaph. 2 Shout joyfully to God our strength; shout loudly to the God of Jacob. 3 Lift up a song and give a tambourine, a pleasant lyre with a harp. 4 Blow the trumpet on the new moon, at the full moon, on our festival day. 5 For it is a statute for Israel, a judgment to the God of Jacob. 6 Witnesses regarding Joseph's going out into the land of Egypt: I do not know the language. 7 "Did I remove from the burden of his shoulder, his hands from the basket?" 8 In trouble, you called, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah. 9 Hear, O my people, and I will testify against you, O Israel, if you will listen to me. 10 You shall have no foreign god, and you shall not bow down to a strange god. 11 I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide and I will fill it. 12 And my people did not listen to my voice, and Israel did not want me. 13 And I will send him in the firmness of their hearts; they will walk in their counsels. 14 If my people, Israel, hear me, they shall walk in my ways. 15 I will bring down their enemies a little and I will raise my hand against their oppressors. 16 Those who hate the LORD will be dishonored, and their time will be forever.
