King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 72

1 Give your judgments, O God, to the king, and your righteousness to the son of the king. 2 He will judge your people with righteousness and your afflicted with justice. 3 The mountains will lift up peace for the people, and the hills in righteousness. 4 He will judge the poor of the people; he will save the children of the needy and crush the oppressor. 5 They will fear you with the sun and before the moon, generation after generation. 6 It will rain like showers on the grass, like droplets on the earth. 7 The righteous will flourish in his days, and there will be abundance of peace until there is no moon. 8 And he will descend from sea to sea and from river to the ends of the earth. 9 Before me shall kneel the dolphins, and my enemies shall lick dust. 10 The kings of Tarshish and the isles shall bring tribute; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. 11 And all kings shall bow to him, all nations shall serve him. 12 For he will rescue the needy who cries out, and the poor who has no helper. 13 He will have compassion on the poor and needy, and he will save the souls of the needy. 14 From the midst of violence, He will redeem their soul, and their blood will be precious in His eyes. 15 And may he live, and may he give to him from the gold of Sheba, and may he always pray for him; may all the day bless him. 16 Let there be a shaking of the land at the head of the mountains like the fruit of Lebanon, and they shall blossom from the city like the grass of the earth. 17 Let his name be forever before the sun; may his name be renewed, and may all nations bless him. 18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who does wonders alone. 19 Blessed be the name of His glory forever, and may His glory fill all the earth. Amen and amen. 20 The prayers of David, son of Jesse, are ended.
