King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 17

1 A prayer for David. Hear, O Lord, righteousness; listen to my cry; give ear to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips. 2 Before You, my judgment will come forth; Your eyes will see what is right. 3 You tested my heart; you visited me by night; you refined me, and you found no evil in me; my mouth did not transgress. 4 By the actions of a man, through the words of your lips, I have kept the paths of the destroyer. 5 You will support me in your paths; I will not stumble. 6 I called you because you will answer me, O God; listen to my words. 7 You have distinguished your kindness, O Savior of those who take refuge in your right hand. 8 Keep me as the apple of the eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings. 9 From before the wicked, their shadow surrounds me; my enemies encircle me in soul. 10 The fat of his mouth has closed; they have spoken in arrogance. 11 Blessed are we now, they surrounded me; their eyes were set to stretch upon the earth. 12 Like a lion, he desires to tear apart; like a young lion, he sits in hiding. 13 Arise, O Yahweh, advance before me; be my deliverance, rescue my soul from the wicked by Your sword. 14 From death, your hand, O Lord, from death, your portion in the living, and your treasures shall fill their bellies; they shall be satisfied with sons, and they shall leave their remnant for their children. 15 I will behold Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake with Your likeness.
