King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 147

1 Hallelujah, for it is good to sing praises to our God; for pleasant and fitting is praise. 2 The Lord builds Jerusalem; He gathers the outcasts of Israel. 3 He who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 4 He counts the number of the stars; to all of them He gives names. 5 Great is our Lord and abundant in power; His understanding is without measure. 6 The Lord raises up the humble; He brings down the wicked to the ground. 7 Answer to the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises to our God with a lyre. 8 He covers the heavens with clouds, prepares rain for the earth, and causes the mountains to sprout green grass. 9 He gives food to the beasts and to the young ravens that cry. 10 He does not take pleasure in the strength of the horse, he does not favor the legs of a man. 11 The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope for His steadfast love. 12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion. 13 For He has strengthened the bolts of your gates; He has blessed your children within you. 14 There, your boundary of peace shall be satisfied with fat of wheat. 15 The one who sends his word will run quickly over the earth. 16 The one who gives snow like wool, and frost like ash, will scatter. 17 He who throws down his heap of coals, who can stand before his burning wrath? 18 He sends His word and melts them; He makes His wind blow, and the waters flow. 19 He declares the word of His to Jacob, His ordinances and His judgments to Israel. 20 He has not done so for any nation, and they do not know His judgments. Hallelujah!
