King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 42

1 For the conductor, a skillful psalm of the sons of Korah. 2 As a deer longs for the streams of water, so my soul longs for You, O God. 3 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God? 4 My tears had been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day, "Where is your God?" 5 These I will remember, and I will pour out my soul upon me, for I will pass in the throng until the house of God, with the voice of joy and thanks, the multitude celebrating. 6 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, my salvation and my God. 7 God, my soul will worship You; therefore, I will remember You from the land of Jordan and the Hermonites from the mountain Mitzar. 8 Deep calls to deep at the sound of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me. 9 By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and by night his song is with me, a prayer to the living God. 10 Why do you forget me, O God, why do you go about in darkness under the pressure of the enemy? 11 By killing in my bones they have reproached me, saying to me all day, "Where is your God?"
