King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 9

1 For the choirmaster, upon the death of the son, a psalm of David. 2 I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. 3 I will rejoice and I will exult in you; I will sing of your name, O Most High. 4 When my enemies turn back, they will stumble and perish before you. 5 For you have executed my judgment and my justice; you have sat on the throne of the judge of righteousness. 6 You have rebuked the nations; you have destroyed the wicked; you have erased their name forever and ever. 7 The enemy has utterly perished; their swords are gone forever, and the cities you have destroyed— their memory is lost. 8 And the Lord will sit forever; He has established His throne for judgment. 9 And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will render decisions to the nations with fairness. 10 And the Lord shall be a refuge for the crushed, a refuge in times of trouble. 11 And let those who know Your name trust in You, for You have not forsaken those who seek You, O Lord. 12 Sing to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; proclaim among the peoples his deeds. 13 For he who demands blood does not forget the cry of the humble. 14 Be gracious to me, O Lord; see my affliction from those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death. 15 In order to recount all your praises, I will rejoice in your salvation in the gates of the daughter of Zion. 16 The nations have sunk in the pit they made; in the net they hid, their own foot is caught. 17 The LORD is known for the judgment He has executed; the wicked is ensnared by the work of his own hands. Selah. 18 The wicked shall return to Sheol, all the nations that forget God. 19 For the poor will not be forgotten forever; the hope of the humble will not perish for all time. 20 Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before You.
